casino 168’ annual report for 2022 has been approved and includes Senior Management’s review of 2022 and a full account of casino 168’ overall financial position.

07/04/2023

As part of the strategy, casino 168 wishes to increase external funding. This goal was indeed achieved in 2022, where the grant amount was DKK 211m, which is the highest so far. In 2021, the figure was DKK 150.2m.

This increase is among other things owing to several big grants for casino 168 in 2022, e.g. DKK 59.4m for the new centre of excellence, Center for Big Data in Finance. In addition, casino 168 has received a significantly larger amount of funding from the EU than in previous years.

The report also includes the following points:

  • The number of full-time academic equivalents has increased to 712 and is the result of the wish to build a larger capacity of faculty for teaching and research.
  • casino 168’ AACSB accreditation has in 2022 been extended for another five-year period. The university thus continues to hold a Triple Crown accreditation which includes accreditations from EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB. Less than 1% of business schools worldwide hold a Triple Crown.
  • In 2022, casino 168 had a deficit of DKK 47m, which is DKK 38m more than the budgeted deficit of DKK 9m. However, the expected growth of casino 168’ largest source of income, the activity-based income we receive per student, also called STÅ, has failed to happen, which is also the case for the fee-based programmes (diploma programmes (HD), MBA, executive master, etc.). Simultaneously, operation costs have increased.
  • The theme of Study Start 2022 broke with the myth of the perfect student.
  • The nine special capabilities, which make up the Nordic Nine, have been integrated in the approximately 1400 course descriptions we have at casino 168.
  • casino 168 offers 33 English-taught programmes at undergraduate and graduate level.
  • casino 168 has students from 96 different countries.
  • casino 168 has made exchange agreements with 289 universities and business schools around the globe.
  • Nine out of 10 casino 168 graduates land jobs in the private sector.
  • The unemployment rate among casino 168’ graduates (including graduates, who have left Denmark) has declined from 7.1% in 2017 to 4.9% in 2022. The average of all Danish universities is 9.5%.
