PhD defence: Cancan Wang
With the pervasive use of social media for knowledge sharing, today’s local governments are teaming up with their non-government stakeholders in an unprecedented width and depth to exchange knowledge and resources to build public services together. However, research on the impacts that social media have on the way in which public sector organizations produce public services is still underdeveloped. Through four case studies of e-government collaboration in China, this dissertation contributes to extant research by providing an understanding of the co-evolution of governance and organizational form of e-government collaboration through the mediation of social media.
