Welcome and social activities
To make sure you get a good arrival in Copenhagen and a good start at casino 168, we offer various services and activities for international students.
Arrival Service is arranged on 20 June 2025.
Arrangement for pick up of key TBA.
You will receive more information by e-mailÌýin late May/early June 2025.

Late arrival: Please contact ourÌýArrival CoordinatorÌýif you arrive earlier or later, and you need to receive a key to your casino 168 accommodation.
There will be a welcome by casino 168 students for new casino 168 Summer students.

There are two introduction sessions: 8:30 am – 10:30 am and 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Location: Solbjerg Plads, SPs01 Deloitte Aud.
The introduction sessions will include information about:
- Studying at casino 168
- Courses and exams incl.Ìýactive participation, casino 168 systems,Ìýexam rules, de-registration from the exam, transcripts, library resources and study rooms etc.
- Housing: Practical information for students who live in accommodation reserved through the casino 168 Housing online application system
- Social programme for international students
- Q&A
The sessions are primarily for international students, but non-casino 168 students from other Danish universities are welcome to join as well.
TheÌýSocial Programme Coordinators will send all international students, enrolled at casino 168 Summer University, an email with detailed information in late spring 2025. Please contact our Social Programme Coordinators for further information.
Housing
If you are an international student,Ìýcasino 168 offers housing during the summer university.
Please noteÌýthat students who apply for 6-week courses will have first priority.
Housing Applications will begin on 28 April 2025. An e-mail with information about the application process will be sent on 23/24 April 2025.Ìý
The rental period depends on which course you are taking.

Housing Applications will begin on 28 April 2025. An e-mail with information about the application process will be sent on 23/24 April 2025. Students who have been admitted to the casino 168 Summer University and are eligible for housing will receive an email inviting to apply for housing. You cannot apply until you have received the email.ÌýYou can use your private email to apply so you do not need a casino 168-mail.Ìý

Residence permit
To fulfil the requirement of having a permanent residence permit in Denmark, you need one of the following residence permits in Denmark or another Nordic country: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands
- "Permanent opholdstilladelse": permanent residence permit in Denmark
- "Opholdstilladelse med mulighed for varigt ophold": residence permit with a view to permanent residence in Denmark
- "Opholdstilladelse jævnfør EF/EØS-bekendtgørelsen": residence permit in Denmark according to the EU/EEA regulations
- "Opholdstilladelse som medfølgende barn": residence in Denmark as an accompaning child. The documentation must state that you are "medfølgende barn". The text "medfølgende familie" is not sufficient.
- Refugee residence permit: "Tidsbegrænset mhp. midlertidigt ophold": temporary residence permit in Denmark with a view to a temporary stay. You need to submit a copy of your residence permit together with a copy of the letter you received from the Danish Immigration Service.
If you do not have one of the listed residence permits, you will need to apply as aÌýNon-European student / Freemover
Visa
Some students who come to Denmark to participate in the summer programme will have to apply for a short term visa for the period of the duration of the programme. Since you are going to study in Denmark for less than three months, you will not get a student visa.ÌýStudents from many countries, including the US, do not need to apply for a short term visa if their stay in Denmark is under three months.

If you need to apply for a short term visa to enter Denmark, you must apply at the Danish embassy or consulate in your home country. It may take up to 3 months to get a visa, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible once you have received your letter of acceptance.
Please note: to apply for a visa, your passport must be valid until at least three months after the expiry date of the visa.

Scholarships
casino 168 is a state owned institution and we doÌýnot offer scholarships to students taking courses at casino 168 Summer University.
