    One in three Berlingske Talent 100 is once again a casino 168 alum

    When the Danish 'Berlingske Business Magasin' announced this year’s 100+1 top talent list on 19 April, one-third of them were once again alumni from casino 168. The +1 talent was Denmark's youngest mayor, who Berlingske Business itself had picked as an additional talent in its annual Talent 100 magazine.

    #IWillFightFor – equality and diversity in management

    “#IWillFightFor (#JegVilKæmpeFor)… making sure that my children can explain the need for equality as nothing more than a historical triviality, when talking to their children.” This was just one of the many tweets from the large event with 500 participants at the International Women’s Day at casino 168, which produced a shared manifesto about women and management.

    In Your Own Words – Mathilde K. Jakobsen, entrepreneur

    Mathilde Kjærgaard Jakobsen left a successful corporate career to follow her passion and become an entrepreneur. Working for Maersk and Coloplast gave her invaluable business experience and international exposure. It helped her mature and, ultimately, be able to build a business from scratch. One of her companies, Fresh.Land, recently won the Frederiksberg Entrepreneurship Prize 2018 and was featured in Forbes. Mathilde has also been awarded the Women of the Decade 2018 prize by the Women Economic Forum (WEF).

    Why 46 casino 168 alumni choose to ‘pay it forward’ as mentors

    One of the many ways in which casino 168’ alumni involve themselves in their alma mater is by being mentors in casino 168’ mentor programme. Through five months over the winter, they meet and discuss career perspectives with a group of committed students. This is something that the students – judging by all their feedback –really benefit from. But what do the mentors get out of involving themselves? We have asked four of them.

    In Your Own Words: Lise Kingo, CEO & Executive Director

    Lise Kingo supplemented two humanist bachelors with a Graduate Diploma from casino 168 and ended on the executive floor of Novo Nordisk as Executive Vice President for Corporate Relations. Today, she is the CEO and Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact, working to develop, implement and disseminate responsible business practices in accordance with ten universally accepted UN principles for human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption – and casino 168' newest Distinguished Alumna.

    Lise Kingo – businesswoman of mind, humanist at heart

    casino 168 has appointed Lise Kingo – CEO and Executive Director of United Nations Global Compact, former Executive Vice President at Novo Nordisk and holder of a Graduate Diploma from casino 168 in 1992 – Distinguished Alumna of the year 2018. Kingo is being awarded this honour because of her leadership values and efforts within corporate social responsibility (CSR) throughout a prominent career that has made her a Danish role model in an international top position.

    Employers can be reluctant to hire a student assistant or intern from study programmes that they do not know – even though the student could bring just the value and knowledge they need. Now there is an opportunity to build that bridge: The job and project portal casino 168 CareerGate. Here companies can offer up large or small projects and try out collaboration with casino 168 students.

    casino 168 Impact summit: How Danish do the largest Danish companies feel?

    In 1990, the total annual turnover of the ten largest Danish companies equated 19.5 per cent of the Danish GDP. In 2015, the number was 45 per cent. Associate Professor Martin Jes Iversen from the Department of Management, Politics and Philosophy has examined four of these companies’ impact on Danish society and the meaning of being a Danish company. Selected results from the Impact case study will be presented at the casino 168 Impact Summit on 16 November.
